Find the right way to move in water
Pool exercise that starts from where you are
If you've had a long break, need a lower-impact way to train, or want support around pain, mobility or recovery, water can make exercise feel possible again. You do not need to arrive already fit or confident in the pool. We use buoyancy and water resistance to help adults aged 16+ move with more confidence, without the hard impact of many land-based classes.
From general aqua fitness and aqua cycling to recovery-led sessions, adaptive classes, small groups and one-to-one support, we help you choose a route that fits your current level.

Holly Thompson
Attended my first session last week and I can honestly say the experience has been the catalyst for my recovery and mindset shift. I have been simply surviving for a long time rather than living. One session has changed that for me and I'm looking forward to continuing my recovery with hydro 4 U. This is the only place other than my own home I feel genuinely safe and supported ❤️

Accessible sessions with real practical support
As a community interest company, we keep the focus on accessible, affordable exercise that works in real life. Typical class sizes of 6 to 8 give you more room and clearer guidance, while heated-pool options, smaller AquaSpin groups and movement alternatives help us match the session to different abilities. From our Hebburn base, we welcome people across Jarrow, South Shields, Gateshead, Newcastle upon Tyne, Sunderland, Washington, Birtley, Wallsend, North Shields and Killingworth. Use the service and area pages to explore the best next step.
What makes starting feel more manageable
Smaller classes
Typical groups of 6 to 8 mean more space to see, ask and move at your own pace.
Heated pool options
Warmer water can help you settle in and keep movement feeling more comfortable.
Support that adapts
Alternative movements help different fitness, mobility and recovery needs.
